State duration view

A State duration view shows how long each value of an integer parameter was active in the report window, for example the share of time a door was open or the hours a fault was present. It is sometimes called a duty cycle. Authors add it with Add state duration under Setup → Reports; viewers open it on the report page.

Slice labels are always shown. Clicking the view never changes the time window or the visible parameters.

Under Parameters, Add integer parameters lists integer report parameters that are not already in this view; each can appear once. Entries are { parameterId, type: "integer" } in parameters, in display order; Move up and Move down reorder them. An empty list is allowed. Removing a report parameter used here asks for confirmation and removes it from the list; the view stays.

Each visible parameter in the list gets one block, in list order.

  • A state starts at the window start when the parameter had a known value at or before it. Otherwise counting starts at the first reading in the window; the unknown time before it is left out.
  • Each value lasts until the next change. The last value lasts until the window end or the current time, whichever is earlier.
  • Separate periods of the same value are added together. Values with zero duration are dropped.
  • States are sorted by duration, longest first, then by value.
  • Percentages have one decimal and are shares of the known time, so they may add up to 99.9.
  • Durations use HH:mm:ss with hours that can exceed 24, such as 00:00:45 or 72:15:00.

Each state is labeled with the text recorded with its most recent reading, in the current language, such as Open; otherwise with the number. Its color is the parameter’s value color for that integer, else the Default color.

  • Pie shows a disk and the list of states. The disk sits beside the list when the view is wide enough and above it in narrow columns.
  • Bars shows horizontal bars next to the same list.
  • Table has the columns State (color swatch and label), Duration, and %. Numbers are right-aligned with fixed widths, so tables of several parameters line up.

A block without known states in the window shows No known states in this range. An error affects only its own parameter’s block. When the window follows the current time, the view refreshes at most every 30 seconds as the window moves forward. Hidden parameters drop their block.
