Comment on and sign reports

Comments mark a time range of a report, for the whole report or for one parameter, and everyone who can open the report sees them. A signature confirms that you reviewed the readings. Who may comment, sign, and delete, and how comments are shown, is in Comments.

You need the operator, editor, admin, or owner role. If the report shows no Comment or Sign button, ask an editor to turn on Add comments or Sign report under On the report. A quick report accepts comments only after it is saved.

  1. Select Comment in the report footer.
  2. Enter the text under Comment.
  3. Adjust From and To. They start with the current report window. To mark a single moment, set both to the same time.
  4. Under Parameter, keep None (whole report) or select one report parameter.
  5. Select Add.
  1. Select Sign in the report footer.
  2. Enter a Comment and select Sign.

The signature covers the readings from the first reading of any report parameter until now. If Sign is unavailable, the report has no readings yet, or they are still loading.

  1. Set the report window to the period you are interested in. The footer card Comments lists the comments that overlap it. Signatures lists every signature.
  2. To see a comment on the data, select the zoom icon (Zoom) on its card. The report window moves to the comment’s range.

To show comments as markers on a chart or table, turn on Show comments in that view’s settings in the report editor (chart, table).

Comments cannot be edited. To change a comment, delete it and add a new one.

  1. Select the trash icon (Delete comment) on the comment’s card. If there is no icon, your role does not allow deleting this comment.
  2. Confirm Permanently delete this comment?.
