Build a value board without code

A Value tiles board shows live values, gauges, short trends and controls for any equipment. Everything is edited on the board; no code or JSON is needed. You need the Editor, Admin or Owner role. The full behavior is in the Value tiles reference.

  1. Open Setup → Dashboards and select Create dashboard.
  2. Choose the Value tiles template, enter a name and create the dashboard.
  3. Open the dashboard from the sidebar. It has one empty page.
  1. Select Add tiles from a device, or Edit and then Board → Add tiles from a device.
  2. Choose the device’s branch of the parameter tree, such as Boiler / Readings.
  3. Check the parameters to show, or Select all, and choose the section: an existing one or a new section.
  4. Select Add tiles. Each parameter gets a value tile named after it; numeric parameters that are recorded also get a 24-hour trend line.

A page holds up to 60 tiles; the dialog says how many more fit.

  1. In edit mode, select Add tile, or a tile’s menu and Edit tile.
  2. Choose the type: Value, Gauge, Chart or Controls, and the parameter. Switching between value and gauge keeps the parameter.
  3. Leave Name, Unit and Decimal places empty to use the parameter’s own; Hide unit shows the number alone.
  4. For a value, turn on 24 h trend line, and Allow changing the value to give operators a Change button. The option is available only for parameters that can be written.
  5. For a gauge, set where the bar starts and ends unless the parameter has a zone range.
  6. For a chart, choose up to four parameters with the same unit and the time window.
  7. For controls, add commands (ordered writes with an optional active condition) or setpoints, and optionally a status value shown above them.
  8. Check the preview and select Save.

Colors make values that need attention stand out. Each color also shows as text on the tile.

  1. In the tile editor, under Colors, select Add rule.
  2. Leave Compare empty to compare the tile’s value, or choose another parameter, such as a fault flag.
  3. Choose the condition and the number, the color, and optionally a label such as High.
  4. Add more rules in order of importance: the first rule that matches colors the tile. Move rules with the arrows.
  5. Keep Use the parameter’s zones on to color the tile by the zones set in Setup when no rule matches.

A value that is no longer current keeps the color it had while current, faded, with a clock mark.

  • Drag a tile by its handle within a section or to another section, or use Move to… in its menu, also to another page.
  • Use a section’s menu to give it a title, add a Report button, reorder sections or delete it.
  • Use Board to add, rename, reorder and delete pages, and Board settings for the refresh interval, the density and page rotation on a wall display.

When another device has the same parameter tree, copy a finished page instead of building it again.

  1. Open the page, select Edit, then Board → Duplicate page for another device.
  2. Name the copy and choose the other device’s branch.
  3. Check the list of bindings that have no matching parameter there; they are left out of the copy.
  4. Select Duplicate. The board opens the new page.

Select Done to leave edit mode.
