How reports work

A report shows the recorded history of parameters. It saves which parameters to show, the views and their layout, the default time window, and the controls offered on the report page. Changing the time window or the visible parameters on the report page changes only what you see in your browser; only an editor, admin or owner saving the report changes it for everyone.
Each view answers a different question:
- Chart shows how values change over time.
- Table shows exact readings, or one value per interval with totals.
- Time bars show one bar per completed interval, such as energy used per hour.
- Histogram shows the average for each slot of a repeating cycle, such as each hour of the day.
- Calendar and Hourly matrix lay days and hours out in a grid to show recurring patterns.
- State duration shows how long each state of an integer parameter lasted.
- Sankey shows numeric values as flows between named nodes, such as energy from a main meter to sub-meters.
Report times use the report timezone. With Browser timezone, this is each viewer’s own
timezone; with a timezone name, every viewer sees the same times and the same hour and day
boundaries. Full timestamps use YYYY-MM-DD HH:mm:ss.
Comments belong to a report and mark a moment or a time range, for the whole report or one parameter. A signature is a comment that confirms someone reviewed the readings up to that moment; it does not lock the report. A shared snapshot is a fixed copy of the report as you see it, with a public link; it does not update after it is created.
Start with Create a report, then use the report page reference for exact behavior.
